The center for maritime industry has set sail!

Towards the end of February, Marcod opened for the first team of finalist companies ‚Äď they are now¬†in program¬†and there is room for more on the next team, which starts in September 2017. The chosen finalists on team 1 represents a broad specter within The Blue Denmark.

Six companies have been screened and selected as participants in the Maritime Elite training center, one of ten ambitious development centers in the national Scale-up Denmark initiative. We are looking forward to following team 1 on their journey towards growth and development.

The six companies are: API Marine ApS in Aalborg, Daspos A/S in Herlev, Hirtshals Yard A/S in Hirtshals, SafeEx ApS in Aalborg, Victor-DST A/S in Frederikshavn and Idoc A/S in Aalborg. The Maritime Elite training center is one out of 10 development centers placed around in Denmark in the national Scale-Up Denmark project. As the name suggests, The Maritime Elite training center has the purpose of supporting the growth and development in small and semi-huge growth companies, which have potential to become the elite within their field.

Daspos A/S from Herlev is a manufacturer of a leak- alert system for the engine room of cruise ships, cargo ships, supply-boats and ferries. A gigantic order from the world’s leading cruise ship company, Carnival Group, has contributed to a growth in gross profit in the period 2012-2015 on 1.137 percent. During the program, they wish to focus on their product range.

РWe have an incredibly popular product, but we wish to expand our product range in order to stand strong in the future. We have identified more possible development projects, and wish with our participation in the program to dedicate some resources to qualify the ideas, in order to decide which ones we should continue with. The important thing for us, is that it is not something which we only ourselves are looking at, but that we have some extremely professional sparing partners, whom are capable of guiding us, while we focus on the development task. The success criteria, is that one of the chosen projects is developed and ready for product launch in the end of 2017, says Lars Gerner Lund, COO  in Daspos A/S.

The six companies were, Monday and Tuesday in the first week, on start camp, on the island Egholm, in North Denmark Region, with focus on strategy and leadership. Their course stretches over six to eight months, where there will be worked intensively with the individual company’ growth and development plans. It happens through individual activities with counseling about financing and capital provision, as well as a counseling course with specialized external consultants. In addition comes collective activities in the form of camps and workshops about vocational themes and with opportunity for experience exchange and networking.

РWe look forward to, in collaboration with the companies, to get a tailored development course, which really makes a difference for them, and can be a part of generating jobs. We have gotten six really talented and promising companies onboard, whom are ambitious about their growth goals, says Christine Lund, CEO in MARCOD, which drives The Maritime Elite training center in collaboration with Væksthus Nordjylland and LIVA consult A/S.

Victor-DST A/S in Frederikshavn, which is specialized in the processing of pipe-systems, constructions and cooling techniques, looks forward to working with the company’s strategy:

РIt is a broad program, where we ourselves can shape the content depending on our needs, and it is an attractive price, compared to the other benefits, which we get. We have started on our new strategy, which stretches towards 2020, where we can combine some activities with the program. It especially applies to organizational development, where we wish to make a gap-analysis of the management group and the board. There are also more interesting collective activities, such as workshops about sales and production optimization, which can be relevant for more of our leading employees, says Ole Nygaard, CEO at Victor-DST A/S.

As of now, there has been a participant screening for two teams, which starts in September. There is only room for a maximum of 10 companies. If you are interested in more information, please contact MARCOD about The Maritime Elite training center.

De seks virksomheder er: API Marine ApS i Aalborg, Daspos A/S i Herlev, Hirtshals Yard A/S i Hirtshals, SafeEx ApS i Aalborg, Victor-DST A/S i Frederikshavn og Idoc A/S i Aalborg.
